Our Vision

 Zhang’s group (Reliable Pattern Analysis Lab.) is dedicated to the research of artificial intelligence driven computer vision systems. Our research brings together the fields of computer vision, image processing, machine learning, and pattern recognition. More than pure theory, our group’s research pays more attention to the practical usability and robustness of algorithms and models, intending to contribute to the transfer of the technology to industry. In recent years, we have focused on exploring three main areas, 1) Human data analysis. We focus on studying, but are not limited to, human pose prediction, interpolation, synthetics, etc. Furthermore, multi-person interaction and human-environment interaction scenarios will be the focus in the future. 2) Medical data analysis. Deep learning has dramatically changed the field of medical image analysis, and our interest specifically lies in interactive medical image segmentation and multimodal medical image analysis, such as domain adaptation between CT and MRI data. 3) Industrial data analysis. Anomaly detection, including defects, stains, deformations, etc., is indispensable for modern assembly lines. We aim to automate the detection process with less data and time, thus replacing visual inspection.

 張研究室は、人工知能技術を駆使し、コンピュータビジョンシステムの研究開発を専門としている。日々の研究では、コンピュータビジョンや画像処理、機械学習、パターン認識など多数の分野の知識を必要としている。純粋な理論よりも、実応用におけるアルゴリズムやモデルの有用性と頑健性に注目し、学術界以外にも産業界への技術移転に貢献することを目標として研究を行っている。近年では、主に3つの方向性で研究を行っている。1)ヒューマンデータ解析。人の動作予測や補間、合成などの研究に力を入れている。さらに、人と人、人と環境のインタラクションを含むシナリオが今後の研究の焦点になると考えている。2)医療データ解析。深層学習は医療画像解析分野を劇的に変化させており、特にインタラクティブな医療画像セグメンテーションや、CTとMRIデータ間のドメイン適応などのマルチモーダル医療画像解析に興味を持っている。3)産業データ解析。キズや汚れ、変形などの異常を検出することは、現代の生産ラインには欠かせないものである。いかにより少ないデータと時間で検出処理を自動化し、目視検査を代替ことかを常に問い詰め、研究を進めている。

 张课题组致力于研究和开发人工智能驱动的计算机视觉系统。我们的研究汇集了计算机视觉、图像处理、机器学习和模式识别等领域。比起纯粹的理论,我们小组的研究更注重算法和模型的实际可用性和鲁棒性,志在于为技术落地工业界作贡献。近年来,我们主要在三个方面进行探索,1)人体数据分析。我们重点研究但不限于人的姿势预测、插值、合成等。此外,多人互动和人与环境互动的场景也将是未来的研究重点。2)医疗数据分析。深度学习极大地改变了医学图像分析领域,我们的兴趣具体在于交互式医学图像分割和多模态医学图像分析,如CT和MRI数据之间的领域适应。3)工业数据分析。异常检测,包括缺陷、污点、变形等,是现代装配线不可或缺的。我们目标用更少的数据和时间实现检测的自动化,从而取代人工视觉检查。
